MEDICAL HEALTH OFFICER
ASSISTANT FOR CANTERBURY ARRIVAL OF DR. DAWSON. Per Pre&s Association. AUCKLAND, September 23. To take up the position of assistant medical officer of health at Christchurch there arrived at Auckland by the Athenic Lieutenant-Colonel F. Dawson,: who has retired from the English Medical Corps. Dr. Dawson was horn in Auckland, but in an official capacity, has been in and ’out of England for the last thirty yearß. He took part in the Boer and Great Wars. In 1923 and part of 1924 he was in West Africa as sanitary officer and pathologist, doing work in tropical diseases. He, commanded the military hospitals in England, the last being in Preston. Lancashire. Dr. Dawson is accompanied by his wife and family.
