Mrs Jennie Widmar, aged **»2. with three stitches in her heart, which were placed there in one of the most delicate surgical operations on record, in order to close a knife wound, is in the ■Washington.. Pennsylvania Hospital with her chances for recovery favourable. Tho woman was taken to the hospital so weak from loss of blood that death seemed imminent. Mrs Widmar is said to have inflicted the wound in an attempt to commit suicide with a penknife.
