RAILWAY ROBBERY
POLICE FOUND STOLEN MONEY BUT KEPT FACT SECRET. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —C.-pyright. i PERTH, September 21 In connection with tho armed robbery at Pemberton, tho police state that they recovered the money intact shortly after the episode, hidden in a hollow under a log Tho discovery was kept secret, in the hop© of finding tho guilty person, but so far they have not succeeded*) though the Government offered a reward of £IOO for any information leading to the conviction of the offender. On August 6th two men, including n company accountant, were going to Pemberton on a railway tricycle, driven by an employee, when a robbery occurred at a cutting, where a log had been placed on the line, causing a stoppage. They wore ordered to put up their hands, hut ono of them attempted to draw a revolver, and was shot in the hand by the robber. The robber, covering them with an automatic secured their revolvers and bag of money. He then.ordered the trio to match in front of him, and, after marching them for some distance, he slipped into the bush and disappeared.
