FIRE AT STRATFORD
BUSINEC3 PREMISES BURNT BILLIARD-ROOM DESTROYED. Per Press Association. STRATFORD, September 21. Fire early on Sunday morning destroyed three old wooden buildings with their contents, on Broadway. There was a heavy gale at the time. The property, ownea by a syndicate, was insured in the Eagle, and British Dominions Office for £7OO. The stock of tli© shop, occupied by ‘‘Eclipse,” was insured for £3OO- in the South British Office, that of Brocklebank, fruiterer, for £2OO in the South British Office, and the Broadway Tea Rooms are supposed to he covered for £4OO in the Eagle and Star Office. GORE, September 21. Daly’s billiard-room, at the rear of the Bridgo Hotel. Mataura, waß destroyed by fire. The building and the billiard tables destroyed were valued by the owner at £2005. The insurances are not available.
