They have received the unique honour of being the only combination in Australia or New Zealand invited to go to New Zealand and open the great New Zealand Exhibition in Dunedin next November. Brisbane, which constituted an easy record for any baiul of performers in Australia, prepared the wav for \their triumphant tour of On* tral and 'Northern Queensland, and their friends will he pleased to lenrn that they have now definitely created a new record in every theatre in which they have played in Queensland. Saturday, the last night of the Rockhampton carnival, was ft culminating triumph for the Diggers, when the huge Earl's Court, seating nearly 4000 people, proved too small to hold tjie crowds who flopked to see the favourites; hundreds were turned away. Tile Diggers had created a new record for the largest open-air theatre in Australia, and there were eight other really excellent shows in tlie town. The overwhelming significance of this triumph raav be gauged by the fact that the previous biggest crowd was drawn there, last carnival, before ilie large Wintergardrii, holding 2200 people, was built.
