Dr. Gunn, at tho Wanganui Education Board meeting, WB9 asked by Mr Durward whether she had a “spot” •-vhilo she was in America. The doctor replied that she did not, although she was told that there was plenty there. “Travelling in those wonderful trains of theirs,” said the doctor, “I saw a number of men going hack and forward having quite a lot to drink. I was told that one could get plenty, hut it was such poor stuff I did not imbibe.” The doctor added that she saw more drunkenness in America than she did in New Zealand.
