BILLIARDS
SMALT, TABLE OWNERS TOURNAMENT. The annual small table owners’ tournament, which is such a happy event each year, was commenced at Billiards, Limited, last night. The first game was between Griffen (owe 29) v. King (rec. 20). Griffen was somewhat nervous, and consequently did not play at his best, whereas King was quite at ease, and reached his points (210) when Griffen’s score was 182. The second game, between Bolton (rec. 45) and’ Gibb (rec. 60) was closely contested during the early part. Gibb, however, got ahead, and his opponent could not catch up. The final scores were Gibb 200, Bolton 161. The third game was between Duncan (owe 140) and Kelleher (rec. 60), and resulted in a win for Duncan after a very even game. When Kelleher has a little more experience he will be a really good player. The fourth game w-as between the veteran W. N. Tucker (owe 240) and Ramsey (scratch). This was a very good game indeed, Tucker just winning by 15 points. Final scores there: Tucker 440, Ramsey 425. , The last game of the evening was between Gilberd (rec. 55) and Abbott (rec. 40), and was won by Gilberd after a fairly even game. The final scores Were: Gilberd 200, Abbott 148. The best breaks were: Duncan, 47, 41, 37, 32, 32, 29; Griffen, 34, 27; King, 29, 21; Tucker, . 57, 45, 42, 44, 23, 21. The games for to-night are -. 7 p.m.—Spencer (owe 85) v. Lockett (rec. 90). 7 p.m.—Watkins (rec. 45) v. J. W. Carr (rec. 80). 8 p.m —C. Tucker (rec. 50) v. Pope (rec. 60). 8 p.m.—Billman (rec. 25) v. Moeller (owe 75).
9 p.m.—King (rec. 10) v. Marris (scr).
