CRICKET SEASON
ANNUAL MEETINGS THOBNDON CLUB. The annual meeting of the Thorndon Club was held last week, Mr H. J. Buck presiding. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the chairman said that, taking everything into consideration, the club had experienced better season than the previous one. With regard to the senior team, lie remarked that as a team it was no worse than any other senior team in the competition. The report and balancesheet were adopted. . Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow :—President, Sir John Luke, M.P. vice-presidents, Messrs H. J. Buck, W, Preedy, C. Stewart, R. Hendry, B. L. Salmon, E. T. Warne, J. S. Swan, R. S. Johnston, K. F. Johnston, A. A. Brown, G. T. Mason, H. H. Sterhng, J. D. Mclntyre, E. F. Kain, Captain F. C. Gentry, Rev. A. M. Johnson, Br. A W. Izard; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr T. Foully; management committee, Messrs D. R. Macdougall, Iv. Mason, G. Martin, W. Hart, C. Stanton, and A. J. Hyder, and the club captain and -secretary ex officio; delegates to Wellington Cricket Association, Messrs H. J. Buck, B. L. Salmon, A. J. Hyder, and K. Mason; selection committee, Messrs B. L. Salmon, Johnston, and R. Mason; club captain, Mr B. L. Salhon. auditor, Mr T„ Fitzgerald. The representatives of third grade teams on the selection committee are to be appointed by the management committee. It was decided to enter a senior team in the competition, but to leave the formation of other teams to the management committee. “EVENING POST” CLUB ; The annual meeting of members of the Evening Post” Cricket Club was held in the board room of the “Evening Post” on Thursday. The president of tne club (Mr W. J. Blundell) presided, and there was a good attendance of members. The annual report referred to the success which had attended the club's efforts during last season, “The Post” h(mng been successful in winning the Walter Blundell Cup. Congratulations were extended to the other three teams — “Dominion,” '“limes,” and “Truth”—on the sportsmanlike manner in which they had played the various games. The prospects for the coming season were considered to be very bright. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow s—Patron, Mr L. Blundell ; president, Mr W. J.
