BOY SCOUTS
ANNUAL COMPETITIONS GOOD WORK AND ENTHUSIASM. The Wellington Bov Scouts* annual competitions we.ro held on Saturday evening at the Drill Hall, Buckle street. The competitions were for judging tho efficiency and ability of the various troops, and were most interesting. The boi's showed wonderful proficiency ;u ambulance work, and enthusiasm was a feature of every phase of the work. The troops competing were from Wellington and district, which include** hranches from as far afield as Lower Hutt and Plimmerton. so that the standard of merit required to win the trophies had to be very high. The Rhodes Ccr» for ambulance work was won by (he Lower Hutt troop, which obtained 26* Points, St. Augustine’s, Pctone, K eing second with 2T4 points, nnd St. Augustine's B tram filling third place with 23d points. Other entrant* were: I.yall Bay 183 points, St. Paul’* A team 176 points. Bt. Paul's B team 159 point*, nnd BiooKlyn 145 points. The Moorhcuse Cup for semaphore signalling was won by the Boys' Institute troop, who obtained 23 points for stylo and KM) points for accuracy, making a total of 193 points. Lyall Bnv ean.o *ocnnd with ISS points, and Dover Flint third 186 points Signaller Kelly, of St. Augustine’s. Petono. was highly commended, and Signaller V aughan, of Lower Hutt, and Signaller Hunter, of Lyall Ibiv, were also specially prnu-ed by the judges. 'The AVellington Banner for plivrioa! drill nnd marching was won bv the BoyC Tustiule U*>op. with the. Sea Scon;-* second, and V.M.C.A., Lower Hutr, and Brooklyn following.
