The United States battle fleet bade fareu'ell to-day to the mid-Pacific waters and steamed eastward for the mainland. The Idnho left on September 17th for San Francisco, bearing Commander Rodgers and the crew of the seaplnuo PN9I. The remaining ships formed off Diamond Head to-day, and headed by tho California, arc proceeding to San Pedro, where tho formal transfer of the fleet will be made from Admiral Coontz, who is retiring, to Admiral Robison.
