EMPRESS THEATRE

“A WOMAN’S FAITH.” . “A Woman’s Faith,” featuring Percy MaTmont, is the foremost of the two feature films included in the big programme at the Empress this week. Percy Marmont is the Donovan Steele of the picture—a man, who having once been betrayed by his friends, refuses to become the friend of any one. Such is the situation when- Neree Caron, the character, portrayed by the graceful, appealing Alma Rubens, comes into his life. Like him she too is a woman whom society has used harshly, for, accused by her uncle of murder, she is hunted by the police. Despite his morose and cynical attitude Neree falls in love with Steele and begins the task of lifting his soul from out of its despair. “A Woman’s Faith” is one of the most intensely impressive screen plays of the year. The second film is a Master Picture. “The Bridge of Sighs,” and it is a poignant drama and stirring tale of adventure, featuring Creighton Hale and Dorothy Mackau. A feature of the entertainment at the night session is the appearance of Mr W. Goudie, who sings a song composed by Mr M. T. Dixon, conductor *of the Empress Orchestra, and dedicated to the 1925 Movie Ball. An excellent variety of supporting pictures is included in the programme.
