RATES FULLY MAINTAINED
THE CONTINENT BUYING. Australian and N.Z, Cable Association. (Received September 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, September 18. At the wool sales there was a good selection of new clip merinos. Continental buyers operated freely and full late rates were maintained. New Zealands, HB/P, 16d; Bayfield, 42d and 3”id. (Reuter's Telegram.) At the wool sales 12,147 bales were offered and the bulk was sold. It was a large supply, chiefly of medium sorts, and met with a ready sale, generally at firm prices. Best scoured merinos sold to 53d and greasy to 33d. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, doted September 18th, 1925:—The auctions are proceeding at the level of the opening day. Catalogues are being well cleared. The following prices are current for average farmers' lots: —Greasy merino, 23d to 27d per lb; scoured merino, 3s 10d; greasy quarterbred, 56's, super, 19d to 22d; fine halfbred, 50/56's, 17d to 19d; crossbreds, 48/uO’s, 16d to 17<1; crossbreds, 46/48's, 14d to 15d; crossbreds, 44/46’s, 13d to 15d; crossbred, 40/44's, 13d to 14d ; crossbred, 36/40's, 121 dto 13} d; crossbred pieces, lid to 12d: crossbred bellies, lOd to lid; crossbred locks, 7d to Bd.
