The figujes of the dairy division of the Department-of Agriculture show that tho salted butter graded for July, 1925, was 346 tons, and - the unsalted 10 tons, , a total of 355 tons; compared with 578 tons salted and 20 tons unsalted, a total of 598 tons for July of last year; a decrease of 40.6 per cent. For the twelve months ended July, 1925, the respective quantities were 65,634 tops and 4582 tons,. , a total of 70,216 tons, compared with 58,327 tons and 3484 tons, a total of 61,811 tons for tho corresponding period of the pro-, ceding season, an increase of 13-6 per cent.

The cheese graded for July, 1925, com. prised White 78 tons, coloured 106 tons, a total of 184 tons, cpmpared with 50 tons white -and 87 tons coloured, a total of 137 tons for . July, 1924, an increase of 34.3 per cent. The quantities for tho twelve months ending July, 1925, were: White 45,990 tons, coloured 24,008 ton 3, a total of 69,993 tons, compared with 45,374 tons white and 28,575 tons coloured, a total of 73,947 tons for the corresponding period of the preceding season, a decrease of 5.2 per cent. Converting these figures into butter r fat equivalent there is an increase of 6.8 per cent, in buttef-fat production for the twelve months as compared with the corresponding period of the 1923-24 season. Stocks held in the various grading ports at Jnly Slst. 1925, were: Butter, 1206 tons; cheese, 284 tons.

WESTFIELD STOCK SALE GOOD PRICES RULING. The advanced prices for beef were maintained at the Westfield fat stock Gale this' week, extra choice ox selling at £2 per 1001 b. Rates for prime young cow and heifer beef ranged from £1 13s to £1 17s. There was a keen demand for sheep, which were yarded in average numbers, extra heavy prime wethers making from £2 7s to £2 9s. Pigs were again yarded in large numbers, porkers selling at improved rates. Choppers 6old at from £4 to £4 5s and heavy baconers realised from £4 2s to £4 Bs. HIDES AND SHEEPSKINS The fortnightly sale of hides? sheepskins? tallow, etc., was held yesterday. There was a large attendance of buyers, and keen competition. Compared with previous sale, held on July 24th, sheepskins were firmer, some lines showing an advance of id to |d per lb. Green Sheepskins also met with a keen demand. Heavy and medium ox hides were lower by id per lb. Gow hides and yearlings were firm at last sale rates. Calfskins were firmer. Tallow met with a good demand at about last sale rates.
