FRANCE PRESSING FOR PACT MINISTERS GOING TO LONDON FINALTY NOT LIKELY By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyri/rit. Australian qnd N.Z Cable Association. (Received August 7, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 7. It. is understood that it has definitely been arranged that M. Briand, M. Berthelot, and experts will arrive in London on Monday evening, and remain until Wednesday. Mr Baldwin has summoned the Cabinet for Tuesday. The “Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent says M. Briand-is Bringing a draft of the Rhineland pact, and also drafts of Franco-German, Germanpolish, and German-Czecho arbitration treaties, and that he will expect Belgium to base the Belgo-German treaty on the Franco-German model, though M. Vandervelde, the Belgian Foreign Minister, probably has his own ideas. Tho correspondent hints at M. Briand’s possible disillusionment, arising from the fact that his elaborate documents probably do not take full account of tho British and German reservations already notified, and suggests that it is improbable that final decisions can be reached. Moreover, it is known that the Germans have drafted their own arbitration treaty, for submission to France.
