ACCIDENT ON CALM
TWO MEN INJURED
Owing to » filing com ins adrift while being lowered into the hold of the Canterbury Steamship Company’s steamer Calm yesterday, two watersiders were injured. Chas. Gantz, aged 62, a widower, and living at 11, Manners street, received a severe injury to his right leg; while -Joe Allington. 43 years of age, single, living at 58, Pirie street, received cute •bout the face and arms. Both men were removed to the hospital in the Harbour Board's ambulance, hut Al--lington after receiving treatment was able to proceed home. Gantz, who whs kept at thehospital. was reported at a late hour last evening to be as comfortable as possible.
