VICTORY IN TWO SETS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. VANCOUVER, July 29. J. O. Anderson (Australia) has reached the semi-finals in the Seaoright tournament, having defeated Chapin, 6—B, . In the third round of the men’s doubles, NOrris and Williams (Philadelphia) defeated J. B. Hawkes (Australia), 7:—5, 6—3, and Vincent Richards defeated G. L. Patterson (Australia), 3—3, 6—2, In the first round of tbe mixed doubles, Mrs Marion Jessup (of Wilmington, Delaware) and Hawkes defeated Mrs M. B- Huff (of Philadelphia), and Stratford, 6—2, 6—3; Miss Elizabeth Ryan and Patterson defeated Mrs Harrison Smith (New York) and Lieut. Edgar Garbisch (U.S.A.), 6—2, 6—l. DATES OF FINAL MATCH The dates of tbe Davis Cup match between the winners of the European and American zones have been altered to September 4th, sth, and 7th. Septeqnber 7th is Labour Day, and a holiday. It is expected that the teams in the final will be evenly matched, and that tbe third day’s singles matches will be decisive.
