A Fez message states that the I*2?, mobile force advanced - along -both hanks of. the Wergha despite resistance from the enemy who were drrren back,, losing many, prisoners. This successful- action' cleared a broad strip of country seventy-five kilometres northward of Fez and greatly impressed the natives. "ENEMY IN FULL RETREAF ; IMPROVEMENT ON ALL FRONTS. A communique from Fes says thatthe enemy were caught under a heavy bombardment by artillery in the vioinity of Anaitcha and Am Matouf and are now in full retreat northward, With the people and herds from many villages. The French attacks effectively relieved the pressure on the Fez Taza boleagured force. Plans for a main offensive are being prepared and the delay of launching is due to awaiting reinforcements, and the French policy of offering peaee : tent ß under a time limit.
