WHO IS IT?
This is the rite observed at the interment of Austrian Emperors. When Francis Joseph was carried; to rest with his ancestors, an officer of the , Life Guards thundered with his mailed hand at the gate, asking for the body to be admitted. • A monk, within asked in Latin: "Who is itP" . - Thereupon one of the dignitaries answered: "Francissuß Josephus primus, Austriae Imperator, Bex Hungariae, Bohemia©, Illyriae, Lodomeriae.— • The monk, answered : "I know him not. Speak again," • A short silence ensued, «and then the dignitary said: "Francissus Josephus, a poor erring wanderer, is seeking rest." The monk then threw the gate open with the words: "Bring him in.”
