THE SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
'The wonderfully bright concert given by Mr T. Jenkins, host, on Tuesday at the Sailois’ Friend-Society, had much in its programme that was dear to the heart of a sailor and met with much applause and many encores. 1 The performers were Maclaines North.and Jenkins, the Misses Gwen Jenkins and Rees, Messrs Collins, T. J eakins, Johnson, Oliver and Master Jo;eph. Mesdames Jenkins .and North were at the piano, “Spots” was the subject of Mr James Moore’s temperance address; again names were added to the many recently inserted in the society’s pledge book. The prizes in the competitions, which went with a swing, came from Mrs W. Massey and Masterton. and were won by men in port.
