MEXICAN GIRL MAKES AMENDHELPING INSANE EMPRESS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Rioceived July 21, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, July 20. A strange romance underlies the story of Senorita Gretta Lopez, in order to provide a blood effusion for the ex-Empress Charlotte, of Mexico, who is insane, and is cared for near ilrussels by the Belgian Government. Gretta, who is a grand-daughter of the Mexican republican leader who forced the Empress to witness the Emperor Maximillian’s execution, learnt that a blood transfusion would prolong the life of the Empress, who is 85 years old. She made the offer because she was desirous of redressing the wrong done by her grandfather. The Belgian Government accepted the offer, and GTetta came to Europe at her own expense.
