ORGANISING SECRETARY’S TOUR. Airs Florence Porter, organising secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society, has recently visited the following branches: Alasterton, Paekakariki, Paraparaumu, Khandallah, and held meetings at the last three named. At Paekakariki, Mrs Chote (the president) entertained all the members of the branch at her own residence; there was an excellent attendance, and much enthusiasm displayed. The following were elected. President, Airs Chote; vice-president, Mrs Holtom; secretary, Mrs Hetherington; and the following committee: Mesdames Holtom; J. T. Smith, and Campbell; Mr Gage undertaking to act as secretary for the Testament distribution. At Paraparaumu, Airs Malcolm Meachen, owing to the illpess of the president (Airs' AI. G. Maclean), entertained all the members at her own home at t'he close of Airs Porter’s address. Airs Watson gave some very interesting information with regard to translation in the part of Africa where she had been as missionary. The following were elected: President, Airs R. G. Maclean) vice-president. Airs Alalcolm Maclean; secretary, Aliss Reta Maclean; collectors, Alisees Alarion Horsell, Addinnll, and Clarke. At Khandallah the secretary. Aliss Gertrude Plimmer, entertained the members at “Woodmancote,” her own home. - The president, Airs ComptonSmitli, was present. Mrs Porter outlined the work of 1924 at home and abroad, -and spoke of the wonderful growth of the interest and support the society had’ received, and the great encouragement this was to all engaged in world-wide work. Great regret was expressed at the resignation of Aliss Plimmer (who is leaving for England shortly), who has been secretary of the branch sinoe its inception. The speakers paid her a high tribute for lier thoroughness and ability in carrying out the duties, and moved a vote of appreciation, which was carried by acclamation. Airs Oompton-Smith was elected president, Mrs Ffitch (subject to her' approvnl), vice-president; the election of secretory will take plnce later. A dninty afternoon tea brought an enjoyable afternoon to a close.
