WELLINGTON WINTER SHOW MEETING OF COMBINED EXECUTIVES. At the meeting of the combined executives of the Winter Shew and- the Industrial Associations held last evening, Sir John Luke, M.P., was in the ohair. There were also present a representative gathering of the executive members of both associations. Sir John Luke; in opening the- meeting. drew attention to the harmony prevailing between the Winter Show and the Industrial Association. Representatives of the two bodies haa been gathered together for the purpose of ensuring making the coming Winter Show a record one in every respect. This year the show would be identified more particularly with industrial exhibits. Re-garding-as to the result of the exhibition, already success was assured,'and underlying this success, more especially in legard to, the industrial exhibits, was the worthy idea of tho erection of an industrial hall for the purpose of providing adequate accommodation for exhibiting the industrial capacities and the future industrial prospects of the Dominion. Sir John expressed gratification at the attendance of the Wairarapa delegates. complimenting them upon their splendid efforts in the interests of last year’s Winter Show. Colonel Mitchell, organiser ■ of the. Winter Show, stated that the floor space this year provided for exhibits, was the. largest area vet supplied for a similar purpose in tbe Dominion. From every respect, the buildings were ideal for tho purpose, and it was n matter of extreme regTet that the forthcoming show must be the last to he held In the Harbour Board building. He expressed the hope that the citizens of Wellington would manifest interest by* co-operating so that the erection of a large industrial hall, sufficient to accommodate the entire exhibition. and adequately supplied with suitable ground space for outdoor events, would be builtrin Wellington in the near future. '

Mr L. T. Watkins, chairman of the Wellington Industrial Association, stressed tbe point that every third or fourth year there would be held in Wellington n Dominion Industrial Exhibition. Regarding this rear’s enmin/r show, already every inch of the available space for industrial exhibits had been booked up. "Not only are tl>o prospects of the show promising, but. already success is assured.' concluded Mr Watkins. Regarding the question of music and entertainment, it was decided that the cvc-nti ve seek the co-operation of all the Wellington hands in respect to this matter. »

Most encouraging reports as to future arrangements in connection with the show were submitted by the entertainment and publicity committees. The proposal of Colonel M'tchell that every fncility be -provided for the eotertninment of the. American .Fleet received hearty and unenimous sunnort, and nn the. m-tien of Mr L. T. Wet-kins, it was deeided that ell tmnrican Fleet men in uniform be adm’tted free to the exhibition. and thet then be welcome to visit the Winter Show at any time.
