St. John Ambulance football workers did good work on Saturday, being able to treat and care for an injured player. Smith, of Johnsonville. who sustained a serious knock-out at tlio Basin Reserve in the early match. He was attended to later by Dr. Jacobsen. Jack Churchill, a Selivyn player, had a finger fractured at Kilhirnie Pnrk, and another Rugby player on the same field had a dislocated knee. Dr. Mc-Evedy put the injury to rights and left the patient in the handa of the St John Ambulance workers. Other minor injuries were reported from Newtown Park. A deputation from. Muritai, consisting of Me'-srs Jowett and Northstrom. waited on the Council at its recent meeting expressing the gratification felt by the residents of Muritai at the splendid efiorts of the council, and in particular Councillor Black, during the stress of the recent floods experienced in the Muritai area In expressing the gratification of the residents.
