HOME AND FOREIGN MISSIONS

The Methodist Women’s Auxiliary for Home and Foreign Missions held an “at home” in Wesley Hall, Taranaki street, on Thursday afternoon. The Rev. Greenslade presided over a large gathering of members and friends. Musical and elocutionary' items were rendered by Mrs Clayton and Miss Norwood. Mrs Gibson, of Levin, spoke a few words, and introduced Miss Adkin, who is offering herself for foreign mission work.

Mrs Pinfold, president of the auxiliary, presented Sister Lily White, who is leaving very shortly for the Solomon Islands, with a sewing-machine as a parting gift, and expressed the hope that she might long he spared to use it. Sister Lily thanked the members for their gift, and iwid that she would take many happy memories of Wellington away with her. The annual freewill offering for foreign mission work was taken up, and afternoon tea was provided. Altogether a very pleasant afternoon was spbnt.
