VISITING HOCKEY TEAM
CONCESSIONS ON RAILWAYS MINISTER GRANTS REQUEST. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. Apparently the agitation made by the New Zealand Hockey Association regarding the Railway Department’s refusal to allow the Australian hockey eleven, which is to visit New Zealand shortly, to travel first-class at concession rate* has had its desired effect. The secretary of tho New Zealand Hockey Association telegraphed the Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister for Railways, regarding the question, but received an unsatisfactory reply. , As a result he telegraphed further received this afternoon the following reply: “Your further telegram received. As a special consideration have approved of the Australian hockey team travelling without sleeipers on the “Limited” express first-class at concession rates.” (Signed) Coates, Minister for Railways.
