FISHING AND SHOOTING PROVIDED, PREPARATION OF SOUVENIR. The Wellington Acclimatisation So*; ciety decided last evening to co-operate • with the citizens reception committee for the U.S.A. fleet in providing the American visitors with fishing and pig and deer shooting during their stay in this district. With a view to making complete arrangements in this direction Messrs E. J. C. Wiffin and H. Fleming were deputed to act with the citizens’ committee. The preparation of a souvenir booklet to distribute among the members .~f the fleet was mentioned by the Wei. lington Chamber of Commerce. It was desired that the publication should ; s far ap possible advance the potentialities of this citv and district, ami while the first 10.000 would convey a message to the fleet, a reprint of 25.000 was proposed in order to be distributed at the Dunedin Exhibition. Financial assistance was sought, the contribution© which were being asked, varying Irani £IOO to £lO. The secretary decided to contribute £lO towards the cost of the bookU
