LETTERS TO “FAIRIEL”
Dear Fairiel, I was pleased to hear that I was one of the wise ones, in the cross-word puzzle. I live in the country, and all about the scenery is very pretty. There is a lovely green bush, almost in front of our place. We have a school a mile and; a half from our house, and also a very nice teacher to teach us. Her name is Miss Kirk. The school is not very hie: with eighteen children going to it. We have a vegetable garden, also some flowers, mostly violets. I am ten years old and X am in standard 4. I have two sisters and a brother. My oldest sister is away till Christinas, in . Christchurch, and when she comes back I am going down. We live in the Otaki Gorge. Yours truly. MARION BUTT. Marion Butt, Hautere Cross, Te Horo.
