A Press Association menage from Dunedin states that the ceremony of laying the foundation stones of the new Otago medical school was performed yesterday bv Sir Jamew Parr, Minister for Education, and Sir Lindo Ferguson in the presence of a large gathering. The Chancellor of the University, Mr T. K. .Sidey, M.P., outlined the historv of the medical school, and showed how it had grown into a great national institution. There were Id students in 188 A, and SiCd in Sir James Parr said the building .when finished would cost not less than £IOO.OfX/, and it was impossible for the Government to finance two medical schools in the Dominion.
