TRAMWAY ACCIDENTS
QUESTION OF LIABILITY. A remit put before the Minister for Internal Affairs yesterday by the executive of the Municipal Association of New Zealand urged! that local authorities should not be held liable for accidents due to a tramway track not being in repair, except its condition was due to negligence. Mr H. L; Tapley (Mayor of Dunedin) remarked that there was far too much going on in the way of people with old bicycles running them against “proud” rails to “burst’' the “bikes” and get compensation.
