INSTITUTE
A PLUCKY FIGHT INSTITUTE OUT OP CUP. Diamonds and Institute met at Association Park in a dual event, the championship and the second round of the Chatham Cup. The ground, which has only just come into use this season, was on the rough side, and players often found the ball going anywhere but where they intended. A hole at . one end prevented Smith scoring what looked Tike a certainty for Institute. A hard fought half found Diamonds leading 2—o at half-time, Dickinson having scored a great goal, while Calvert unluckily put through hie own goal. The second spell was evenly contested, but when Kallaner had reduced the lead for Institute, McI.eod added a third goal for Diamonds, who thus won by 3—l. Mr L. P. C. Cooper wae the referee.
