HOKITIKA SESSIONS. AN UNUSUAL CASE. Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, March 23. At the Supreme Court sitting, Mi Justice MacGregor presiding, tfiers. was no criminal business set down for hearing. The appeal, Radomski v. Haseler. partly heard last sitting, was furthei adjourned'till June. Sidney W. Richardson was granted his discharge in bankruptcy, and in an undefended divorce suit Emily Henderson was granted a. decree nisi on the grounds of desertion by Archer Kenneth Henderson A' claim by William Jeffries against John Cron (Okuru) for breach of contract arising out of an alleged deal in cattle wan partly heard. The defendant’s counsel asked for a non-suit on the grounds that Jeffries, the plaintiff, could not act as agent and principal. His Honour adjourned the hearing till next sitting to enable the plaintiff to join Charles Neville, Inspector of Stock, as co-plaintiff (Jeffries and Neville being partners in the Poerua run). The non-suit was not granted at this stage. The costs are to be paid by plaintiff. In the case, Kerr v. Kerr, a claim by the husband against his wife, His Honour gave judgment for defendant, stating that it was an unusual case. The husband claimed he handed his wife moneys earned by himself to he held in trust. The parties had been separated for six months. The magistrate’s finding in the lower court proceedings was persistent cruelty on the husband’s part. The presentproceedings were then commenced. His Honour found that the husband’3 contentions were not borne out.
