WANGANUI WOOL SALE
POOR SELECTION. • IMPROVEMENT ON NAPIER VALUES. Per Press Association. 1 - WANGANUI, March 20. A poojfc selection, consisting mostly of baabA«&ttnlry wools, was a feature at the Whngauui wool sale this evening, though on a clean scour basis the prices obtained were a decided improvement on the recent Napier sales. Most of the bales offered contained a percentage of seed, and were in consequhnoe in heavy condition. Lightconditioned wools, however, met with good competition, the level of value established at the Napier sales being equalled. Germany and Bradford competed keenly in bellies and pieces, while competition :n lambs’ wool was firactically restricted to French and ocal buyers. In ’bis division up to 22jd was obtained. The following range gives some idea of the prices that obtained: —48/50, 17d to 204 d; 46/48, 16d to 18Jd; 44/46, 15jd to 17d; 40/44, 14d to 16d. The number of b~lcs passed was fairly heavy. (
