THE SWANSEA MATCH. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 1, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 28. The Swansea match was watched by 8600 people. The ground was waterlogged, and a splendid contest, was fought out in deep mud. England led Wales 2-1 at half-time. A thrilling contest was witnessed in the second- half, the scores remaining unaltered. At the Belfast match there was an attendance of 40,000. The ground was soft. The Scotchmen played the long passing game, which i£ most effective on a heavy ground. Their defence generally was too strong for the Irish, giving them an advantage •of '3-0 in tlie first spell.
