J- Cook (secretary of the Miners’ Federation), speaking at Trimdon, in Durham, said: “I am going to be Dank and,honest; I say deliberately 1 -that unless the miners’ wage is made equal at least to the standard pf 1914, something must happen next July.” Alluding to his controversy with Mr Frank Hodges (the former secretary), Mr Cook complained that 'the Press had tried to create a “Hodges clique” and a I‘Cook clique:” So far as he was concerned, no personalities would interfere with the,work of the federatiofiV ' He would; be the happiest man if there; was a chance of a' peaceful ’
