ASSISTANT FOR pOMB MISSIONS. V REV. E. T. OLDS APPOINTED. REPORT ON PAERATA COLLEGE. At the Methodist Conference Mr J: Veale introduced business m connection with Wesley College at Three Kings, Auckland. The-college has now . been tranferred to Paerata, and the committee is now seeking the consent of conference to so use the property in. the centre of : AuokUn;d that it may be adequately TOadqd ’and place in the marker. Referring to the: extent of the church nroperties under discussion in connection with the Agricultural College, Mr .Veale stated that there were 681 acres at _ I’ae-' rata.* At Waikawhai Park, on the shores of the Manakau harbour there was an area' of 235 acres, and at Three Kings, in Auokland city, tbeie were 230 acres. Mr Veale. on- behalf of the committee, requested permission to sell certain portions of the property in order to develop the whole trust. After debate: the necessary permission was given. ... The new principal, of the Paerata College, Mr R. C. Clark, M.A., Dip. Ed., Presented his report qn the' college work in the fora* of a very splendid speech, which aroused the enthusiasm of the conference; There were 65. boys in residence, and the cost of residence Was so low that the authorities were acutally offering ’what was .equivalent to a bonus, and therefore Methodist families were to be encouraged - to make full use of Paerata. The Rev. E. T. Olds was appointed an 'assistant to the Rev. A. J. Steamer in the Home Mission wurk. The accepted candidates were presented to the eonfireiioe and congratulated. The Rev. G. H. Findlay. M_A., was leceived from, the English, conference, and was warmly welcomed and admitted as s minister in fall, connection. Mr Findlav briefly replied to the president's wet come.
