ROWING CREW LEAVE FOR . AUSTRALIA.
The Maheno sailed yesterday, and the New Zealand eight are now well on their way to win their "spurs” in an intercolonial race. .On Wednesday the crew had their final row on the Wanganui -river, and from accounts it was very solid am} a rattling good one —the best to date. On Thursday evening they were fine guestn of Messrs John Fuller and bons, find attended the performance at His Majesty’s (Theatre: I At a meeting of tho New Zetland Council on Wednesday evening, a selection committee was appointed to act in Australia, and the following were appointed: Messrs Lauchlnn (maim: ger), Ayres (coach), and Healy (stroke). As tho four-oared contests are the usual events in New Zealand, the New South Wales Association have decided to add this class of race to the programme, and the details for same are to be arranged 'on arrival of the New Zealand crew in Sydney.
