A very pleasant outing was spent o& Tlnusday last by a* party of 20 of the ox-service patients at the hospital, Poritua. Cars and pro\isious were provided by the Red Cross Society, and the party journeyed to Pnekakariki and spent a dav on the beach. Surf bathing and games were indulged in by members of the party who expressed themselves, at the conclusion of the outing, as having had a really enjoyable time. The Red Crossi Society is indebted to the A.B.C. Motors. Magnus Motns. Mrs Camern. Lower Hutt, and Mr Bothamley, of Porirua. for free use of their cars by which tlio outing was made possible. Four persons out of every five whft call at Billiards Limited's in the top door of Baker’s Fcatherston street, to see and hear Marvellous Melotone Gramophone. mvskw* a purchase. They see a really good article priced at about half what is usually paid. Direct from maker to user means a tremendous saving in cost; —it's the duty, freights, charges, and intermediate profits that make gramophones so expensive.—Advfc.
