BURGLARS AT WORK
AUCKLAND OFFICE ENTERED. EXPLOSIVES USED ON SAFE. ■Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. February 27. When the head onice of Ambury’s, Ltd., was opened by the staff this morning it was discovered that thieves had broken in during the night and had made a bold attempt to rob the sofa
The entrance has been gained by forcing the side window. The thieves had used explosives on the office safe, but without effect. They must have become alarmed after the explosion, for they decamped witnout removing anything from the office. In any case it is stated that the safe last night did not contain sufficient money to have rewarded the burglars for their enterprise even had it been successful.
