In imposing the maximum penalties —fines amounting to £3oo—on George Isaacs, who admitted selling drink without a license at the Catering Club, Rupert street, Soho, Sir Charles Biron. the Bow street magistrate, remarked that the way 'n which bogus clubs defied the law was remarkable.
