"VT OTICB IS HEREBY GIVEN that at -I ’ a Special Meeting of the Upper Hutt Town Board, held on TUESDAY, the 10th day of February. 1925, the following Reaolution was passed, and "will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of the Board, to be heldon FRIDAY, the 13th day of March, 1925, at 7.30 p.m., at the Town Board Office; Upper Hutt:— RESOLUTION: WHEREAS it is proposed that the Makara County Council, the Hutt County Council, the Wellington City Council, the Petone Borough Council, the Lower Hutt Borough Council, the Eastbourne Borough Council, the Johnsonville Town Board and the Upper Hutt Town Board should make similar by-laws in relation to heavy traffic, that license fees should be collected only by the Wellington City Council, and that such fees should be apportioned amongst the above-mentioned local authorities in proportion to their contributions to the maintenance of the 'Hutt Road, under the provisions of "The Hutt Road Act, 1915." NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of the Upper Hutt Town Board< in exercise of the powers vested in it by "The Town Boards Act, 1908,” and Amendments thereof, "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920." and its Amendments, "The Public Worts Act, 1908,” and in particular "Tht Public - Worts Amendment Act, 1924, and Regulations thereunder, and in pursuance and exercise of every other authority or power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes, by Special Order, the following By-law, which is to. come into force'on the Ist day of April, 1925. The object and purport of such By-law provide for: 1. Definition of Heavy Traffic. 2 Regulation of weight and passengers vehicles permitted to carry. 3. Security for damage to, and maintenance of roads. 4. License fees, duration of license, and for the collection of fees by the Wellington City Council, and apportionment thereof. 5. Cessation of heavy traffic during winter months. 6. Regulation of heavy traffic generally. 7. Repeal of other heavy traffic By-laws of the Board. 8. Penalties. A full copy of this By-law is deposited at the Town Board Offices, Upper Hutt, and is open to the inspection of the Public, during office hours, until the 12th lay of March, 1925. L. F.
