ROWING FOR GIRLS
BANNED BY UNIVERSITY. DECLARED TOO STRENUOUS. (Sydney “Sun” Cable.) LONDON, February 25. The Bangor University, in Wales, has prohibited its women students from participating ,in boat-racing and tug-of-war contests, considering them injurious. The athletic authorities deny that there is any danger, contending that it is -a question of adequate training. They declare that rowing has proved beneficial to the health of girls.
