MINISTER FOR LANDS
EXTENSIVE TOUR IN NORTH. The. Hon. A. D. McLeod (Minister for Lands) leaves Wellington this evening for a departmental tour of ; the northern parts of the North Island. To-morrow he is to inspect the Orakci block, in the vicinity of Auckland., with the Hon. Sir James: Parr. On Friday morning he leaves Auckland by car. to Pukekone, Waitakaruru, Ngatea. and Kerepejii. On Saturday he visits and afterwards proceeds to'the Thames. . . 1 ' On Monday next the Minister leaves the Thames for Te Aroha. via the Orongo settlement, '. Turua, Netherfion, and Paeroa; and. on the Tuesday he proceeds to Tauranga via Waihi and Katikati. The following' day he goes to Whakatane, via Te Puke, i Matata, and Edgecombe. On Thursday, he inspects the eastern portion of the Hauraki Plains, 1 and next day .leaves for Rotorua, inspecting the . western portion of the plains en route. ’ While at Rotorua the Minister will visit the bush-sick area at Kaharoa. Leaving Rotorua on Monday, February 2nd, Mr McLeod proceeds to Taupo, via the Reparoa settlement and Wairakei, and during the week he will also visit Tokoroa, Putaruru, Cambridge, the Te Miro settlement, Te Awamutu district, fCawhia, and Te Kuiti. Heexpects to return to Wellington about February lOtb.
