THE OPEN SPRINT. The days racing concluded with the
SECOND DAY OF MANAWATU MEETING TAMATETE AGAIN WINS THE STAKES AVOLA AND MIREUSONTA SUCCESSFUL LISTENING FO3T WINS AT BUNEDM . The Manawatu Club’s meeting was continued on Saturday in showery weather, but before a good crowd. The President’s Handicap was won by Atfola, with Te Kuri second, and Merry Singer third. Mireusonta won the Awapuni Handicap from Last Crust and Imperial Spark. <, TJie Palmerston Norjtl^.-Stakes srtw : Tamatete triumph in the race for the fourtffyear ID succession, though he had to be ridden out to beat Gaillard. : - Rain interfered with the success of race meetings elsewhere. The Taranaki meeting had to be postponed until to-day, so heavily did the rain “fall, while at Wingatui the Dunedin Jockey Club’s races were held in drizzling rain. The, Sb Andrew’s'Handican., the principal race, was won by Listening Post,- while Bugle Note prevailed in the Grandstand'Handicap.
