Herbert Ellis, on returning to his home in Mudigee at midday, opened a bedroom door in looking for his wife, and found the bodies of nis two children, Enid, aged three years, and a baby, aged three weeks, lying on a bed. Both were dead, and their throats were terribly gashed. Tho wife was lying at the bottom of the bed, also with her throat cut. The wife was removed to hospital, where she died. All the wounds were inflicted with a bujqlwr’.a knife. Mrs Ellis had been in bad health for some tftne, and was apparently demented when she committed the act.
