The general manager of tramways stated that to-day’s had weather had caused a loss of £BOO or £9OO to the Tramway Board, and an £BOO or £9OO that is sorely needed. To meet the wishes of the Railway Department, the Tramway Board had placed extra cars on every route in the tramway system, to enable passengers to rea.ih the railway station in time to take trains to sports rnd other gatherings in the country, and as a result of the weather conditions the cars were almost empty, and the arrangement, which was tried for tho first time, caused further loss.
