' The secretary of the Food Commision states that the commission has leld eight public meetings, at which svidenoe was taken in regard to prices n general, and the wheat, flour, and iread trades in particular. The commission did not hear evidence in regard to meat. No scheme for the licensing of imports or. the control of supplies was submitted. Statements in the newspapers to the effect that the commission examined and' approved a scheme to give preference to dominion meat producers, and to restrict imports from foreign countries are without foundation. ’ '<■ BREAD DEARER IN SYDNEY.
