Brail Bay Surf and Life-saving Club held a gala on the beach all throuch the day yesterday, concluding in the evening with danc:nr on the parade, the band playing in thp bandstand. The tram© in the early afternoon arrived loaded, c,dozen cars in quick-succession depositing about 7(K> people, who went to join th« “giddy throng” spending their monev in n ecod cause at the Aunt Sallies, coconut shies, hoopla, et.\ Except for one or two 1 light showers it was a great day. Surfers enjoved them, solves to the limit, and members of the Maranui Club were on dutv to guard against accidents. Extra lights were fixed on tho parade and the srene at night was one cf great enjoyment.
