STATE MINE IDLE
DISPUTE WITH FIREMEN. Per Press'Association. GREYMOUTH, December 10. ’The Rewanui State Mine is idle today owing to a dispute between the firemen and management re wages. The men claim that as they are in charge of the boilers they are entitled to firemen’s rates of pay, but the management, contending that they are assistants, is paying assistant rates. A conference takes place to-morrow.
