The fact is that no lix&rd can- sting Thor© is one lizard, the ugly Gila monster of Arizona, which has a poisonous bite, but. English lizards are harmless. Yet many 'people look upon them with fear and hatred That pretty littlo legless lizard, the slow-worm, is usually classed as.a snake and killed at sight. The plow-worm is not only harmless, but. like the toad, a great help to the gardener. It lives on insects and similar plagues.
