Y.W.C.A.

A meeting of the Y.W.C.A. Dominion Committee was held on Thursday. Those present were Miss Jean Begg (chair), Mrs Bennett, Mrs H. Buckleton. Mrs T. E. Corkill. Miss Dunlop, Miss Ethel Law. M.A., and Miss Ella Fair (secretary)Miss Begg, on behalf of all the Y.W.C.A, s in New Zealand, extended a hearty welcome back to Miss Ethel Law, wlho has just returned from U.S.A., and who represented N#w Zealand at the world's Y.W.C.A. Commission held in Washington this year. At this commission thirtyfive nationalities assembled to discuss plans and methods for carrying out the purpose of the Y.W.C.A. throughout the -world There the members of the Y.W.C.A were conscious that they ware an international movement of women and girls seeking a way to share in the building of a more Christian world. Reports were recived from the associations throughout New Zealand, showing growth and development in' the movement in this Dominion. Matters of policy and of organisation ter next year were discussed. The Triennial Convention of all the Y.W.C.A.’s of Australia and New Zealand is to ha held in Brisbane in July, 1925 Miss Leila Bridgman, National vhief Councillor of the Girl Citizen Movement of Australia and New Zealand, arrived in Wellington by the Mabeno. Miss Bridgman will be the leader of the Girl CitizenV Conference to be held at Solway, Masterton. from December 27th to January 2nd. Some of the members of the Dominion Y.'W.C.A. Girls' Work Committee met to welcome Miss Bridgman and to discuss ©lans for conference. Those preeent were Miss Jean. Begg, Miss Margaret Laing, Mies Irene Wilson, M.A-, Siw J«*u Mackenzie, M-A-, MtoTomi* kinq, Mrs R. I. Allan, Mies Fair, Miss Bene Magill.
